Frontend Consultant
About the role and what you'll be doing
You will be working across the full project lifecycle, from developing proof of concept to delivering the final project and will provide advice to your team and your client about the best approaches to frontend development. We favour React.js, Styled Components, Webpack, Typescript/ES6 and do both CSR and SSR development. We work with many different clients who are using a variety of technology choices, so you can expect to be delivering high quality code and gain a lot of experience in different areas.
Amido has a diverse set of communities, as well as your core competency, that you’ll be encouraged to contribute to, and learn from, where projects and client commitments allow. You might also be involved in presenting technical topics to your team or coaching more junior colleagues.
You will be a self-starter, proactive in your project work and your career, including identifying your development needs and planning to fill them with the help of your training budget.
We are a client-facing business, but we do encourage clients to allow us to work remotely for a majority of the time so if you are not required to be on client site, you can choose to work from home or in our Amido offices.
What you’ll bring to Amido
We are looking for passionate developers who have a proactive attitude and can interact effectively within a team. You will also need the following skills and experience:
- Working with Object-Oriented ECMAScript JavaScript or Typescript, and knowledge of various JavaScript libraries and frameworks (React or Angular), HTML and CSS
- Functional programming that renders across CSR and SSR
- Understanding of NodeJS web services
- Experience with react components
- Using appropriate design patterns such as factory, command or the decorator pattern
- Using distributed source control (we use Git)
- Working with responsive design, accessibility, mobile first development etc.
- Understanding of unit-testing in a TDD/BDD style
- Developing in Vanilla JavaScript
- Great communication skills, in particular: presenting, collaborating and working with stakeholders
- Understanding business and client requirements and have an ability to articulate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
